Artist Statement
I view my work as a problem, puzzle, or a question that I need to solve. I am more fascinated with questions rather than answers, which drives my creative process. My projects take on a variety of forms, but they share a similar construction process. My work typically originates as a large quantity of individual pieces, which I use as building blocks to construct my projects. The final solution varies depending on the materials I chose to use. All my projects follow a similar set of guidelines influenced by rhythm, repetition, and movement. The guidelines give me room to alter and change the original concept because the solution I seek is usually one achieved through trial and error. This allows me to keep on questioning and adapting as the process continues.
